Natural Rubber (NR)

Chemical Structure

• Primarily composed of rubber hydrocarbon (polyisoprene), with trace amounts of protein, moisture, resin acid, carbohydrates, and inorganic salts.

Service Temperature

• -60°C to +80°C

Advantages

1. High elasticity and fixed elongation strength
2. Excellent tear resistance and electrical insulation
3. Good abrasion and drought resistance
4. Good processability, easy to bond with other materials

Disadvantages

1. Poor resistance to oxygen and ozone, prone to aging and deterioration
2. Low resistance to oil, solvents, acids, and alkalis
3. Limited heat resistance
